We have reached a significant milestone in the history of our congregation. We are planning to build a Congregation Centre, including a House of Prayer, a nursery and a kindergarten.

How did we reach this point?
After more than 15 years of prayer and congregational goal-setting, in 2016, the local government of the Municipality of Debrecen initiated a consultation with our congregation and others to see how they could help with the infrastructural development of our community. This is how we started on the road that, by the grace of Christ, was followed by many prayers and fasting, and led to the acquisition of a property on Epreskert Street in Debrecen, formerly used by the Soviet army and later taken over by the Ministry of Defence, with a surface area of more than 12,000 m2, being given to our congregation in 2021, with the specific aim of building a House of Prayer, a nursery and a kindergarten.
What has happened so far?
Nearly HUF 230 million (EUR 591,260, USD 640,670) have been raised from the congregation's donations, which, when added to the donations and planning offerings from congregations and individuals, amount to nearly HUF 300 million (EUR 771,210, USD 835,650). This amount is about one third of the total construction cost, but we are grateful to the Lord for the heart of our community members, as well as our brothers, sisters, friends and acquaintances, to take up this challenge of strength. It is our prayer and desire that the funds needed to build the House of Prayer will come from solely from donations, bringing glory to the name of God. The planning process and the necessary negotiations and contracting are progressing step by step.
Construction is expected to commence in 2024.
